Mike Fyshe
Since 2001, Michael has led the practice’s Ad Agency Search and Selection practice, counselling senior marketers on rigorous, objective, agency search protocols that mitigate risk and maximize partnership potential in the Canadian market. Mike's approach follows an expert strategic exercise, focusing client attention on future performance indicators, cultural fit, and strategic alignment necessary for long-term value delivery, particularly in a complex marcom ecosystem.
With over 40 years of senior-level experience, Michael’s executive leadership has been the guiding force behind many successful advertising and marketing campaigns across a broad range of categories, including automotive, beverage, telecommunications, packaged goods, tourism, and financial industries.
As President and COO of BBDO Retail, he managed the agency’s largest group of clients, including Chrysler Canada, Molson, TSN, Talbots, and Dairy Queen, along with a staff of over 100. Later, as CEO of BBDO Canada, he led the agency’s Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal offices, a staff of 500, and a blue-chip client list that included Bell, FedEx, Chrysler, Campbell's, Hostess, Frito-Lay, and Pepsi.
Mike has consulted on MarCom effectiveness, relationship performance and agency selection issues with many of Canada’s top-tier brands including Petro Canada, Nissan/Infiniti, the the Advertising Review Board of Ontario, Ontario Ministry of Health, Ontario Tourism, Canadian Tourism, Vancity, Capital One, Volkswagen Group (Audi, Porsche, VW), BC Hydro, George Brown College, Loblaw, Baycrest, UHN Foundation, SickKids and Honda Canada to name a few.
